Global businesses get into shape with Easynet innovation

David Lloyd, Bodycote, Groupe CAROLL, Primagaz, Cromsource and TVH are just some of the latest organisations to benefit from Easynet Global Services’ expertise in network, hosting and cloud integration services. These global businesses are securing Easynet’s expertise to reap the benefits which innovative technologies such as the Cloud, application performance management and unified communications can deliver in today’s challenging global economy.
Easynet Global Services has signed a three-year contract with David Lloyd Leisure, Europe’s premier sports, health and leisure operator. The company’s 450,000 members, attending 10,000 classes per week, will soon benefit from a number of online member services. Internal access to these systems will be delivered across Easynet’s extensive bonded xDSL service.
“With our members soon to enjoy new online services to join and sign up to classes, it’s more important than ever that our systems are fast, powerful and up-and-running at all times. We wanted a properly managed, robust network from a provider that would be able to give us full visibility of our infrastructure and its applications. We chose Easynet because its expertise in the area is second-to-none and we knew that it would give us a clear view of our network across the whole of Europe”, said Bruce Gardner, IT Director for David Lloyd Leisure.
Thermal processing services provider Bodycote, which operates over 170 plants in 27 countries around the globe, has undertaken a project to standardise IT across its enterprise, giving it the flexibility to transition to cloud services as and when required. It has signed a global Wide Area Network (WAN) standardisation agreement with Easynet to provide an MPLS network to its entire group of plants for six years. As this is rolled out, Bodycote will be looking to renew its datacentres, working with VMWare to consolidate more than 180 physical servers to 50 in its Boston and Edinburgh datacentres.
Garry Joiner, head of global IT services at Bodycote, said that Easynet’s Wide Area Network is part of a major global project to reduce spend and standardise desktops and servers across the business: “Bodycote is now starting to benefit from the cost savings that are achievable from a standardised IT Service offering”, he said. “By consolidating services to one or two suppliers, as well as reducing the amount of applications and systems, the business and end users benefit from having better support from the internal support resources. We also achieve far greater economies of scale when looking at only one system to deliver a service, rather than dispersed solutions being utilised in a multitude of different locations”.
Groupe CAROLL, a leading European retailer of women’s fashion, has also signed a three-year contract with Easynet for a fully-managed VPN MPLS solution. The new partnership will see 145 CAROLL stores in more than five countries across Europe benefit from Easynet building and managing its IT end points. The partnership shows Easynet’s capacity to understand customers’ requirements, following similar projects for major brands such as EDF and Crédit Foncier de France.
Easynet has signed a five-year contract to manage Primagaz’s MPLS networks in Belgium and The Netherlands. Primagaz is an important player in the global butane and propane market. The contract includes a managed hosting service and remote hands back-up, along with additional services such as IP Telephony and Telepresence.
Cromsource, a provider of clinical and personal research for pharmaceutical, biotechnology, vaccination and medical industries, has also signed a fully-managed MPLS solution, for seven sites across six countries - Belgium, Spain, Germany, The Netherlands, Italy and Poland. This solution includes a centralised internet gateway in its Schiphol data centre in The Netherlands. Additionally, Easynet will provide Cromsource with a Microsoft Lync solution, helping all employees in the company to effectively, yet securely, collaborate on business decisions.
TVH (Group Thermote & Vanhalst), is a worldwide leader in forklift trucks, aerial platforms and industrial in-plant vehicles. The company has contracted Easynet for five years to provide a global Hybrid MPLS network to support its IT estate across 160 countries.
