12 December 2011
Usage-based billing for Cloud-based Video Services offers greater flexibility
Easynet Global Services today launched a new pay-as-you-go pricing structure for its Cloud-based Managed Video Conferencing service, allowing customers to pay for video conferencing meeting, bridging and management on a per-usage basis. Customers with their own video conferencing equipment will now be able to call upon Easynet’s industry leading expertise to ensure that important meetings connect perfectly; content is shared flawlessly as well as enabling a high-quality, high-definition experience using a Cloud-based usage payment model.
The new service and associated pricing is perfectly suited to companies which have made previous capital investment in video conferencing end-points, but do not use it often enough to justify monthly payments for a full-time dedicated service. Easynet’s new, flexible structure allows new or existing customers to use the advanced bridging and concierge services that increase usage and drive up end user satisfaction, but with the flexibility of a Cloud-based model where the customer only pays for what they use. This new pricing structure is ideal for both companies that wish to trial the latest technology, using their existing or loaned equipment before they make a longer-term commitment, or are looking for a way to increase utilisation within existing users. By having the full backup of Easynet’s Industry award winning managed video services companies finally have a way of embedding video conferencing and collaborative working into their business without having to make a significant leap of faith and associated capital investment in dedicated bridges and management software.
The service has been developed in direct response to customer feedback, after a number of Easynet’s clients expressed a need for more flexible options to reflect their changing use of video conferencing. Customers of the pay-as-you-go service can now simply log on to Easynet’s customer booking portal and select the level of service required. The options range from fully managed end-points, to those where Easynet tests and certifies for inclusion in any call using Easynet, the customer’s Private VPN or Internet connectivity right through to a full concierge service, in which a dedicated member of staff at Easynet’s Video Network Operations Centre (VNOC) manages the meeting from start to finish.
Justin Fielder, Chief Technology Officer at Easynet, said: “High definition video and collaborative working is becoming an increasingly important business tool for our customers, but doing it right needs not only significant amounts of capital investment in bridges and management software, you also need to ensure that the infrastructure is hosted on a high-performance, dedicated network with full control over the end-to-end performance. Our flexible Cloud-based offering offers not just per-use billing, but also then enables the customer to either cross-charge departments for services or balance CAPEX and OPEX in IT budgets. This service is managed identically to our dedicated offerings, but is a significant development in making the offering available to a much wider customer base.”
Easynet has extensive experience of providing managed video conferencing solutions, with its portfolio including the full support of Polycom, Tandberg, Cisco and Sony end-points, as well as the ability to integrate almost all types of customers’ existing equipment via its flexible bridging, content sharing and management solution. This is all hosted on Easynet’s secure, next-generation global network and backed up by the Industry award winning 24x7 multilingual VNOC.
